Separating Real Capital from Automated Volume on Solana

On Solana, a dollar of volume can be traded a hundred times for almost nothing. The headline number is the least reliable thing on the screen.

How circular volume happens

A small group of wallets buys and sells to each other, often funded from the same source. Price barely moves, but volume, trade count and 'activity' climb.

Signals that hold up

  • Organic versus wash buy and sell volume, classified by wallet behavior.
  • Share of volume from whale, mid-size and retail trades.
  • Automated wallet share based on timing and tip patterns.
  • Identical priority tips across wallets — a strong sign of one operator.

Use volume as a ratio, not a total

Volume relative to liquidity (vol/liq) is far more costly to inflate than raw volume, and comparing it with organic share tells you how much of that turnover is real.
